Scratchella’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. After struggling with her weight for most of her adult life, she made a life-changing decision a few years ago and lost over 150 pounds. While her weight loss journey continues (as she still has a ways to go), her incredible weight loss inspired her to create Starting Fhom Scratch.

 Growing up in Sacramento, Scratchella developed a deep love for culinary cooking. She enjoys preparing various cuisines, from southern food to Mediterranean dishes. Through her blog Starting Fhom Scratch, she shares her inspiring journey as an aspiring chef, exploring the best of what California has to offer and feeling rejuvenated. Her blog features a delicious mix of mouth-watering recipes, food reviews, and the hottest spots to visit. 

But Scratchella’s blog isn’t just about food. As a new traveler, she’s excited to explore new places and learn new things. And, now that she can travel comfortably (without all that weight weighing her down), she’s eager to visit every city in California and share her travel experiences, from first-time trips to the best food spots around the state. At almost 50 years of age, Scratchella is a proud mother of three beautiful kids and is happily in love.    • Mac and cheese – it’s the ultimate comfort food that never fails to make me smile.

   • Carmel-by-the-Sea! The food, the culture, the beach – it’s a dream come true.

   • Cooking a delicious meal and enjoying it with my loved ones.

   • Here are seven places I'd love to visit before 60:
     • Tokyo: I’ve heard the sushi is phenomenal, and I can’t wait to learn the art of sushi-making and share it with you all.
     • New Orleans: The delicious flavors of Creole and Cajun cuisine are calling my name. Gumbo, jambalaya, and beignets – yes, please!
     • Barcelona: Tapas and seafood galore! I’m excited to embrace the delectable food scene and bring those flavors back to my kitchen.
     • Bangkok: The street food scene is legendary. I’m eager to explore authentic Thai dishes and maybe even try my hand at cooking some.
     • Istanbul: Turkish cuisine is so flavorful. I can’t wait to taste everything from kebabs to baklava.
     • Mexico City: Tacos, tamales, and more! The street food here is a dream, and I’m excited to experience it firsthand.
     • Rome: Italian pasta and gelato are at the top of my list. I’m looking forward to indulging in classic Italian dishes and bringing those recipes home.
